Agora came to us looking for a unified design system and visual language that could tie together their many products and offerings. They needed something that felt unmistakably Agora, while still flexible enough to move across a wide range of touchpoints. Our answer was the Aura, a visual connective thread that brings consistency and personality to their entire ecosystem. Alongside the Aura, we also solidified a typographic system and iconography library to help hold the brand together across every touchpoint and expression.

VISUAL R&D PROCESS

A foundational phase of this project focused on research and development, exploring and conceptualizing visual treatments that could represent the idea of a real-time network platform with so many products and offerings.

THE BIRTH OF THE AURA

We ultimately landed on the idea of a layer stack: a series of uniquely shaped planes building on top of one another, echoing both Agora’s technical stack and the breadth of their products (conversational AI, video, voice, and chat). We called it the “Aura”. The system could float and bob, generate endless variations through random seeds, and shift effortlessly between light mode and dark mode.

OUR TYPOGRAPHIC SYSTEM

For typography, we’ve proudly gone where no AI company has gone before: clean, geometric, sans-serif type. But seriously, there’s a reason this works. Jokker became our typeface of choice because it brings just the right amount of personality, with a range of weights that hold up beautifully at both large and small scales. And honestly, we’ll take any excuse to use a Displaay typeface when the opportunity presents itself.

ICONS THAT GET ALONG

Our icon library is robust, simple, and built to scale, which is ideal for Agora as they continue adding new products and offerings. The icons hold up beautifully at both small and large sizes, and they stay cohesive as a family.
